Stop and Respond
In the movie, Stand and Deliver it discusses of how many students struggle within a low education school district and how they face a challenge of taking a more complicated course in mathematics. It shows how both sides of the students and teachers dedication and commitment into passing the AP Calculus Exam. After the students tested they awarded the students for passing the exam. Many officials questioned the students passing the test and accused them of cheating. The school and their families began to believe they may have cheated on the test. Students had to then again face another challenge of the suspension of cheating and retake the AP Calculus Exam. Soon after they discovered they passed the second time of the test. They have accomplished so many things as students in a low community in East Los Angeles. The teacher had accomplish many things as well but most important one was to offer an AP Calculus course class in Garfield High School and many students passing the exam.
Do you think that the accusations of cheating were warranted, or justified?
ReplyDeleteI don"t think that the cheating was guaranteed, I think that since it was in the "barrio" they really didn't expect many students to pass the A.P Calculus Test @Michael Weller
