December 1
Stand & Deliver is about high school students who took the California's calculus test and were accused of cheating their teacher Jaime Escalante believes they are bright kids who are being discriminated because of their race. Jaime tells the investigators that his kids deserve respect, so the students retake the exam to prove their innocence while the investigators where present to display they are not cheaters and they all received passing scores. It reveals that back in the day most people did not believe that students could be as smart as those considered intelligent that there way no possible way. In my opinion the film notifies that just because a student is a certain race like Mexican a person can be smarter than the race considered "clever". Or just because a person dresses a unique way they think one is insignificant but can likely be resourceful.
