Into the Wild

2/12
Chris McCandless is a young lost man who doesn't know exactly what he wants in his life. I can somewhat understand what he's trying to find as he explores in the wild. Well in my point of view, he's trying to find his confidence or his worth by living through a dangerous journey. He wanted to live life without the corruption of mankind but also to live upon the environment throughout his exploration. It may seem unreasonable to live life with the wild nature of this world but the beauty of seeing the biodiversity in this lifetime may be worth it than 30 years of repetition to become wealthy.

This is an interesting point. Wendy has pointed out that McCandless's privilege as a white male is an important part of understanding his story. Do you think McCandless would have viewed material belongings & wealth differently, though, if he had grown up in poverty, or if he were a woman or person of color?
